Extended Shelf Life for Our RIA Kits for the determination of TSH, Tg, and Calcitonin

Extended Shelf Life for Our RIA Kits
We are pleased to announce that our optimized production processes now ensure you receive RIA Kits SELco® TSH Rapid, SELco® Tg 1 Step, and SELco® Calcitonin with an extended shelf life of additional two weeks. Thanks to these improvements, the production process can be finished two weeks earlier, ensuring a longer shelf life. This change provides our customers with increased flexibility and better planning when using our products. With this extension, you now have more time to plan and carry out your diagnostics with confidence, without compromising on quality.
The Importance of TSH, Tg, and Calcitonin in Diagnostics
1. TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone):
TSH is a key marker for assessing thyroid function. It is used in the diagnosis and monitoring of thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). A change in TSH levels can indicate a range of thyroid disorders. TSH regulates the biosynthesis of thyroglobulin (Tg) and plays a central role in thyroid function. Elevated TSH levels can indicate primary hypothyroidism and serve as an early indicator of this condition.
SELco® TSH Rapid:
A quantitative immunoassay for the determination of thyrotropin (TSH) in human serum. This test aids in the diagnosis of thyroid disorders and is used in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings.

2. Tg (Thyroglobulin):
Tg is a specific tumor marker, used primarily after thyroid surgery or treatment to detect recurrences or metastases of thyroid cancer. Rising Tg levels after treatment may signal renewed tumor activity and require quick action. Thyroglobulin is a key marker in monitoring differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and is used for early detection of recurrences or metastases. Elevated Tg levels in the serum are a reliable indicator of persistent or recurrent disease.
SELco® Tg 1 Step:
A quantitative immunoassay for the determination of thyroglobulin (Tg) in human serum. This test is particularly relevant for monitoring differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and detecting recurrences or metastases after treatment.
3. Calcitonin:
Calcitonin is an important marker for diagnosing and monitoring medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). It helps differentiate MTC from other thyroid disorders and is also used for clinical surveillance of MTC patients, particularly in detecting C-cell hyperplasia or recurrences. Calcitonin plays a vital role in regulating blood calcium and phosphate levels and is a characteristic marker for MTC and C-cell hyperplasia.
SELco® Calcitonin:
A quantitative immunoassay for the determination of calcitonin in human serum. This test is essential for diagnosing and monitoring medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) and C-cell hyperplasia.
