6103 – Rotadeno Antigen Quick
Intended Purpose
The Rotadeno Antigen Quick is a qualitative immunoassay for the determination of Rotavirus and Adenovirus antigen in human stool specimens. The Rotadeno Antigen Quick is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of infectious gastroenteritides in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings. The immunoassay is designed for manual professional in vitro diagnostic use.
Diagnostic Relevance
Rotaviruses and Adenoviruses are the major causative agents of infectious gastroenteritis, which are transmitted via faecal-oral contact. With watery diarrhea and vomiting being the major symptoms, other symptoms like fever and abdominal cramps may occur, but they generally last for 3, and 5 – 8 days for Rotavirus and Adenovirus respectively.
