GA Generic Assays CMA IFA is used for the qualitative and semi-quantitative determination of anti-cardiac muscle antibodies (CMA) in human serum on monkey heart muscle sections.
Serologic assessment of cardiac diseases may be facilitated by the detection of CMA using indirect fluorescent antibody method. Identification of histologically defined circulating antibody to one or more of the cardiac muscle antigens can serve as diagnostic and prognostic marker for diseases like rheumatic fever, myocardial infarction and a variety of post-cardiotomy states.
