Digital image analysis for microbiology

Digital image analysis for microbiology

Within the project period new, automated and standardized detection methods for the detection and quantification of bacteria by means of digital image analysis on the measuring platforms VideoScan and AKLIDES® are to be developed.

The aim of this project is the development of new, automated and standardized detection methods for the detection and quantification of bacteria using digital image analysis.

With the help of digital image processing, bacteria should not only be detected in a time and cost efficient way. NO, they should also be identified, differentiated and quantified. Since no automated and standardized evaluation systems for most microbiological questions exist so far, it is the aim of the project partners to provide a reliable, user-independent and reproducible detection and quantification of bacteria at the end of the project. Further information about this project can be found on the website of our partner at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State of Brandenburg (ILB) for the period 2017 – 2020.
